International Student Services, Division of Student Success, is pleased to welcome you to our campus community. Our goal is to help make your transition to New Mexico State University as smooth as possible.
The International Student Services (ISS) office at NMSU will sponsor a mandatory orientation for new international students on Monday, January 11th.
In addition to attendance at the mandatory orientation sessions, some students are also required to complete the Academic English Proficiency Test (AEPT) or the CITE Placement Test prior to class registration. The AEPT is a mandatory requirement for all undergraduate students, graduate students with teaching assistantships, graduate students with TOEFL scores below 80 iBT or 6.0 IELTS, and students enrolling in programs requiring AEPT. The CITE Placement Test is required of students admitted with TOEFL scores lower than that required for regular admission.
Students required to take the AEPT or CITE Placement Test cannot register for classes until the test results are available. Testing dates for the Spring semester are January 8, January 15, and January 22. Test registration is at International Student Services, Room 8, Educational Services no later than the day prior to the test.
